Judge Steven O. Williams has been the judge
of the Fairfield County Juvenile and Probate Courts since
January of 1995. From January 1, 1994 to December 31, 1994,
he was a judge in the Lancaster Municipal Court. Judge Williams
served as an Ohio State Senator (31 st District) from 1991
to 1993 and as an Ohio State Representative (78 th District)
from 1981 to 1990. He was engaged in the private practice
of law from 1976 to 1993.
Judge Williams holds B.A. and J.D.
degrees from Ohio Northern University. From 2001 to 2002,
he served as chair of the Ohio Judicial Conference Drug Courts
Committee and served on the OJC Executive Committee. Also
in 2001-2002, he was vice president of the Ohio Association
of Drug Court Professionals. He was a board member of the
Ohio Community Corrections Organization in 2002 and served
on Governor Taft’s Alcohol and Drug
Addition Services Shareholder’s Group during that year.
Judge
Williams is married and lives in Lancaster, Ohio. He and
his wife, Ruthie, have three adult sons.
